FESTIVALES - Finlandia

Los organizadores del 35º Midnight Sun Film Festival, debido a la crisis internacional del coronavirus, han decidido realizar una versión reducida on line

While most films are only available for streaming in Finland, it is our great pleasure to be able to exclusively screen a series of Slovak gems from the 1960s to our international audiences. The four-film series, courtesy of The Slovak Film Institute – Slovenský filmový ústav, is curated and introduced by Olaf Möller in his master class “When Miracles Were Near”, and is available for streaming all over Europe during the festival, from June 10th to June 14th.
Here’s how to participate in Sodankylä forever online festival:
Sign up to scope.msfilmfestival.fi with your e-mail address and create a password during your first login. These will be your username and password on the platform.
By clicking a film poster, you can rent said film with your credit card. Rental prices are listed in each film’s information. The prices range from 4 to 6 euros per film. In addition to films the platform provides access to the morning discussions, which are available for free. You can also purchase variously themed ticket bundles, such as the Slovak films mentioned above (for 10 € including all four films and introductions).
Each film or morning discussion is available for streaming for five (5) days beginning on the screening time listed on the festival schedule. Streaming can be paused and continued within the next 30 hours after the viewing has begun. Subtitles can be added using the CC-icon at the bottom of the screening window. Some of the films are subtitled in English (see list here) while others only have Finnish subtitles. See more info about technical requirements here.
We warmly welcome everyone to participate in the Midnight Sun movie bliss!
